teeny art

On the second Saturday of every month our local galleries keep their doors open late for people to wander around downtown and explore the exhibits for free. It is called…wait for it…Second Saturday. Clever.  Like a name I would have come up with.

All kidding aside, it is a fantastic chance for we philistines to be exposed to the world of gallery art in its various forms. (Ever wondered what a rat would look like with grapes growing out of it? Neither did I.) Last night was a particularly nice night out so there were plenty of people walking around, which prompted Jen to point out that it made Sac feel like a real city. And who says it has to actually be cold out in January? Bah!

After the art walk we felt inspired and decided to create some fast, small, recycled collage art. Which became known as fartwork, because I don’t enunciate very well. Some pics courtesy of Sheila:

Great fun, and recommended for anyone with a creative block.  And for anyone contemplating flinging cans of paint onto buildings…Jen

This fartwork definitely smells rosy. And a bit like Elmer’s glue.
